SynapsePortal
Connected prehospital simulation
Private development platform

One platform for realistic prehospital simulation.

SynapsePortal brings SynapseFacilitator and SynapsePPJ together in one browser-based training environment. Instructors control the scenario while learners assess, treat, communicate, and document the simulated patient.

The modules are development previews for authorised institutional and private users. They can be used independently or connected to support a complete simulation workflow.

There is no public download or self-service registration. Access is coordinated directly with authorised institutions and private users.

Instructor
SynapseFacilitator

Controls the case, patient development, observations, and participating units.

Learner
SynapsePPJ

Receives the assignment and supports realistic assessment, treatment, and documentation.

The platform

Two complete simulation tools. One connected environment.

SynapseFacilitator and SynapsePPJ have separate jobs. Together, they allow an instructor-controlled scenario to continue directly into the learner's assessment and documentation workflow.

Control the scenario

SynapseFacilitator

An instructor-facing simulation tool for preparing cases, controlling patient development, and coordinating the scenario without revealing hidden information to learners.

  • Create and prepare structured simulation cases
  • Control patient development and clinical observations
  • Coordinate several learners, units, or teams
  • Keep instructor information hidden from participants
  • Support realistic scenario progression and debriefing
Document the scenario

SynapsePPJ

A simulated prehospital patient journal where learners receive assignments, assess the patient, record clinical developments, and practise realistic documentation.

  • Receive incidents and simulated patient assignments
  • Complete structured primary and secondary assessments
  • Document vital signs, treatment, medication, and triage
  • Practise a realistic prehospital journal workflow
  • Use simulated information without real patient data
Better together

The case does not stop when documentation begins.

In a connected session, information can move between the instructor's simulation environment and the learner's journal workflow. That allows the clinical scenario, observations, decisions, and documentation to remain part of the same exercise.

Case control

Instructor manages the simulated patient.

Clinical response

Learners assess and treat the case.

Documentation

The encounter is recorded in SynapsePPJ.

How it works

From session setup to debriefing.

01

Create the session

The instructor prepares a session, selects a case, and makes the required simulation modules available.

02

Learners join

Participating units join through the browser and receive their incident or patient assignment.

03

Run the scenario

The facilitator controls the case while learners assess, communicate, treat, and document.

04

Connect the workflow

Enabled modules exchange simulated incident, patient, and observation data during the exercise.

05

Review the case

The completed scenario can support structured reflection, documentation review, and team debriefing.

Flexible training

Built for different types of simulation.

Ambulance education

Let students practise documentation alongside clinical assessment and simulation-based learning.

Scenario training

Run controlled patient cases with developments that respond to the actions of the participating team.

Documentation practice

Train the structure, sequence, and clinical reasoning involved in completing a prehospital journal.

Team exercises

Coordinate several units, roles, and participants within the same simulated incident.

Instructor-led teaching

Give educators a central place to manage cases, learners, patient information, and progression.

Independent modules

Use SynapseFacilitator or SynapsePPJ separately when a fully connected exercise is not required.
