SynapseFacilitator is the instructor-facing simulation module within SynapsePortal. It is being developed to help educators prepare patient cases, control clinical developments, coordinate participating ambulance units, and run structured prehospital scenarios from one browser-based environment.
Prepare fictional incidents, patients, clinical information, learning objectives, and the information available to participating learners.
Control how the simulated patient changes during the scenario, including observations, vital signs, clinical findings, and responses to learner actions.
Manage several simulated ambulance units, assign incidents or patients, and follow their operational progress through the exercise.
Keep case instructions, expected developments, cues, and hidden patient information available to the facilitator without revealing them to learners.
Support simulated observations and patient-monitor workflows that can reflect instructor-controlled clinical changes during the scenario.
Connect the instructor-controlled case with SynapsePPJ so learners can receive assignments and document assessment, treatment, medication, triage, and patient progression.
Run SynapseFacilitator without SynapsePPJ when the exercise only requires case control, patient development, and instructor coordination.
Support post-scenario discussion by preserving the sequence of case developments, instructor actions, and relevant events from the exercise.
SynapseFacilitator and its connection with SynapsePPJ are development previews for authorised institutional and private users. There is no public download or self-service access. Features, terminology, access models, and interface design may change before testing or public release. The platform is intended exclusively for education and simulation using fictional patient information.
